Driving with a company on El Amigo
You drive for a local company. El Amigo is the app that company uses to send you trips.
How offers work
- One trip is offered to one driver at a time, with a countdown set by the server.
- Before you accept you see the pickup and its distance, the trip length, the destination area (or address, if your company shows it), the fare, how the rider pays and your estimated earnings.
- Declining is immediate and is not counted against you. An offer that never reached your phone is recorded as undelivered, not as a decline.
- Among drivers about equally close by road, the one who has waited longest gets the next offer.
Earnings
Each trip shows the fare, discounts, tips, cash you collected and your earnings under your company's published pay policy. Bonuses, if any, are shown separately from earnings.
If the app stops working
Your company can approve temporary web access. You ask from the company's driver web page with your email and password; a dispatcher confirms it is you and reads you a one-time code. Web access does not track your location in the background, so keep the page open and visible.
Location
The app shares your location only while you are online or on a trip, and stops when you go offline.
